"Lone Star
Bull" |
||||
| The subjects of this painting
are a Texas Longhorn bull and the flag of Texas, the Lone Star state. Following
my “Texas pride is everywhere” theme, I thought I’d rather
not portray them in their traditional colors, but mix it up and have their
colors and textures intermingle. The Texas flag background then is made
up of the Longhorn’s white and brown spots pattern with the negative
space between the spots forming the lone star. The bull’s head and
neck reflect the vertical band of blue from the state flag and the red and
white bands are represented by the spots of his midsection. Gallery showings: Visual Art League of Lewisville, Texas -- Members’ “Eyes of Texas” Exhibit, Oct. 2006, 1st Place |
